University of Idaho Programs
This workshop is a part of a 2 credit class called Careers in Fire and Fuels. This is a required class for the A.S. Wildland Fuels and Fire and is helpful for those seaking a B.S. in Fire Ecolology and Management or a Masters of Natural Resources in Fire Ecolology and Management. This workshop is open to anyone - credit or no credit - to increase awarness and excitement about this amazing profession

Andrew Hamilton has a diverse career in fire - getting into if after college and then moving around to different types of crews. He now works for Universtity of Idaho (along with other things like being a realestate agent). He has some great persoctives of what this job can provide to a developing person.

Emily Hohman provides such a great perspective on getting into and staying in fire from a stewardship perspective. She represents a non-western, non-federal fire perspective, and in the question and answer session, she really provides some great insight into leadership, mental health, and finding your power in this field.

Amanda Rau - ODF - Prescribed Fire Coordinator has a diverse background that has centered on her love and appreciation of fire. Her years of experience have prepared her uniquely for her current position where she is charged with administering the Certified Burn Manager program in Oregon.

Aaron Murdock and David Perkins work for the US Forest Service as leaders of a handcrew in Grangeville Idaho. They are eager to help people start successful careers in fire.
